Warm Summer Greetings and Salutations!
We’ve been working hard to keep our Knollcreek community, particular the pool area, well maintained and safe. Recently we replaced the chlorine pump and thanks to Aquatica, our pool vendor, they were able to install the replacement pump promptly, minimizing the amount of time the pool was to remain closed. The access codes to the pool keypad have been eliminated due to unauthorized users. The card access to the pool gate has been corrected from 9pm-10pm. Volunteers have been going to the pool more often to address rule violations in an effort to maintain a friendly family atmosphere. All pool users are expected to know pool rules and abide by them. We encourage people to use the trashcans located around the pool area and to keep all drinks and food away from the pool.
We have requested the repair of our wooden picnic tables. This will allow for a more enjoyable experience while visiting the amenities. The Board has approved the funds to resurface the tennis court. This will be scheduled in the near future. We are also looking at the needs of the playground area. All the lighting around the pool and park has been repaired. We are continuing to look at the lighting issues at the entrances and drainage around the pool and park.
We are currently seeking for member volunteers to head up the Social and COP committees. If you would like to volunteer please attend our next meeting. Without a Social committee social events will not occur.
The Board has 2 Director vacant positions. If you would like to fill a position, please attend the next Board meeting or let Misti Jacobs of Real Manage know so she can send you a nomination form. The Board meetings are the second Monday of every month at 7:00pm.
Knollcreek HOA Board
It’s great to see that we have had great attendance at the pool this summer, but RealManage and the Board have received reports of multiple incidents involving poor behavior and violations of the pool rules.
In order to keep the pool a fun and safe environment, please review these key rules with your household.
- Alcohol and glass containers are PROHIBITED on pool grounds.
- Food cannot be consumed in the pool.
- Dispose of trash in the garbage cans.
- Vulgar language and profanity is prohibited.
- No more than 4 guests per household, unless it has been a party approved by the Board.
- Minimum age to use the pool unescorted by an adult is 14.
- No sports equipment, such as footballs, are allowed in the pool.
This is not an exhaustive list of pool rules. The rest can be found inside the pool house wall. Also, please note that the pool has security cameras installed.
New HEB to Open Soon!!!
The new HEB store at Bulverde and Classen is now open!. Now you won’t have to drive as far to buy cases of Topo Chico and barbequing supplies!
The new HEB will have the normal items (groceries, pharmacy, etc.) but it will also be piloting their new optical store and in-store BBQ restaurant…and yes…breakfast tacos will be sold in the restaurant’s drive through. They will also have curbside pickup for those of you who use it at other stores.
The New School Year is Here!
If you’re a parent like me, then you’re probably gearing up for one of the best times of year…when you can send the kids back to school. While it can be a relief for us, it can be difficult for your kiddos to get back into the swing of school. Here are some helpful tips that you may want to use to get them excited about the upcoming school year.
- Make back-to-school shopping a big deal. Getting the family excited for back-to-school shopping by using it as a stop in a family adventure day. You could make a stop to get the supplies, then do lunch, go clothes shopping, and end with a trip to the movie theatre. This will help break-up some of the “work” that goes into this task.
- Don’t sweat school supply outages. It’s fairly common for local stores to run out of supplies a few weeks before the start of the school year. Remember that you can normally order those items from e-retailers like Amazon or even from HEB.com or Walmart.com. Ordering online could save you some time and money instead of driving around trying to find a story with inventory.
- Start refreshing study habits. One of the most difficult things for students to do it get back into a habit of studying after spending the entire summer relaxing their brain. Work with your child to do some activities that will help them warm up their brains. These could be something as simple as having them talk to you about an interesting article/book they have read or as complex as some math problems jog their memory in that subject.
- Food and rest are important! It’s easy for kids to burn their energy really quickly in the first few weeks of school. Make sure that your kids have plenty to eat and are getting enough rest. This will help with their transition back to a learning environment.
- Tackle homework as a family. This is a tip that can be a huge boost to a child’s performance at the beginning of the year, but it can also be challenging for the parent. Basically, sit down as a family to knock out homework for the first couple of weeks. For your child, having a resource immediately available can take a lot of the frustration out of getting back into the habit of homework. Parents, it may not be easy with everything we have going on, but it’s something simple that can make a big difference.
Seeking New Board and Committee Members
In case you didn’t know, our volunteer Board and committee members are comprised of homeowners in the neighborhood and each year we elect new members to fill expiring terms. We are also in need of more members to lead and assist in our Social and Citizen On Patrol (COP) committees.
There is great momentum in the community right now and YOU can be part of the great work being done! If you are passionate about our neighborhood, are interested in helping evaluate what repairs and improvements need to be addressed, and want to help increase community engagement and events, we invite you to run for the Board or to participate in the Social or COP Committees. HOA Board Meeting Schedule
All homeowners are welcome to attend the monthly meeting of our HOA Board of Directors. If you own your home, you should receive the agenda one week prior to the meeting via email. The Board meets at 7:00 PM on the 2nd Monday of every month. Mark you calendar and we hope to see you there! Meeting dates are August 14th, September 11th, October 9th, November 13th, and December 11th.

- Which Board members organize events in the neighborhood and how do we suggest ideas?
A. Almost all of the events in the neighborhood are organized by residents in the community, not the Knollcreek Board of Directors. These are fellow members of the neighborhood that are putting in their time and energy into creating fun activities for us all to participate in. Normally, residents request funds from the Board to ensure that they aren’t paying for events out-of-pocket. We recommend getting clearance from the Board before requesting reimbursement to ensure that there are appropriate funds within the budget.
- Can the pool be reserved for parties? What amenities are included in that?
A. The pool can be reserved for parties during the open pool season. Submit your request to RealManage for it to start the approval process. All regular amenities are included in the reservation, but residents will be required to bring their own coolers or other food storage containers and all guests are expected to follow the pool rules while in attendance.
